Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man) schijnt heel hoog genoteerd te staan voor de regie van de twee Hobbit-films die eerder deze week werden bevestigd. Niks is echter nog zeker, want ook regisseur Guillermo Del Toro (Blade II, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) schijnt gewild te zijn. De Mexicaan liet recentelijk weten dat hij interesse heeft in het project, in het geval dat hij benaderd wordt.
