Universal heeft de rechten gekocht van de biografie First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong en gaat er een verfilming van maken. Centrale thema van de film is de historische gebeurtenis van de eerste maanlanding. Nicole Perlman zal het script schrijven. Neil Alden Armstrong (Wapakoneta (Ohio), 5 augustus 1930) is een Amerikaans testpiloot en astronaut. Hij zette op 21 juli 1969 als eerste mens voet op de maan.
"The closer he got to the moon, the further away he became from his family," Perlman told the trade. "He had a family tragedy before Apollo that turned him into this driven astronaut, and he became such a perfect hero that while Buzz Aldrin was announced to be the first man on the moon, NASA reversed its decision because Neil was regarded as more heroic."
