Lion Gate Films wil, samen met IFC Films, de R-rating die de MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) aan de film Fahrenheit 9/11 heeft toegekend aanvechten. De MPAA kende deze rating, die inhoudt dat bezoekers onder de 17 jaar een begeleider bij zich moeten hebben, toe voor de violent and disturbing images and for language.
