Let op, Spoilers!

Producer David Heyman, (Harry Potter 1 t/m 5, I am Legend) heeft in een interview laten weten dat er flink wat is geknipt in The Half Blood Prince. Zo zullen het gevecht op Zweinstein en de begrafenis van Dumbledore niet voorkomen in de film:

"The reason why we left out the Battle at Hogwarts is because we have a battle at Hogwarts in the Seventh film and we are avoiding repetition. Dumbledore's funeral was something that I really loved and is a fantastic part of the book and part of me would have loved it in the film. But we decided that while we loved it that what we came up with was the right ending for the film that we had made.''

Fans over de hele wereld werden half augustus al teleurgesteld met het uitstel van de film, en de eerste reacties op deze ontwikkeling zijn ook niet positief. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince gaat op 16 juli in Nederland in premiere, en naast de inmiddels vertrouwde cast maken Jim Broadbent en Helen McCroy hun opwachting. Ook zien we Hero Fiennes-Tiffin als een jongere Voldemort. Fiennes-Tiffin is tevens de neef van acteur Ralph Fiennes, die de rol van de volwassen Voldemort speelde in The Goblet of Fire en The Order of the Phoenix.
