De film, die werd geregisseerd door niemand minder dan Joseph Kosinski (o.a. van Top Gun: Maverick), werd onlangs getoond aan enkele filmjournalisten. De meesten waren uiterst lovend en erg enthousiast.
Intens
Net zoals bij Maverick wilde Kosinski opnieuw de grenzen verleggen om de ervaring levensecht te maken. Zo te zien is hij hierin wederom geslaagd. De eerste gelukkige filmcritici die de blockbuster al hebben mogen bewonderen noemen het een unieke mix tussen fictie en realisme.
De film wordt 'ongelooflijk intens' genoemd, met racescènes die direct vergeleken worden met die van Maverick, maar dan op wielen. Dat is niet verwonderlijk. F1: The Movie is in nauwe samenwerking met Formule 1 gemaakt, met echte teams en circuits.
