De Cinema Expo heeft onlangs bekendgemaakt dat de grootste Nederlandse bioscoopketen Pathe bekroond zal worden met de Exhibitor of the Year Award. De prijs zal tijdens de eerstvolgende editie van de Cinema Expo, van 21-24 juni in de Amsterdam Rai, worden uitgereikt aan de Deen Lauge Nielsen, directeur van Pathe Nederland.

Dit meldde de organisatie in het juryrapport: “It is a great pleasure for Cinema Expo to be able to acknowledge and pay tribute to Pathe Theatres BV as the leading cinema circuit in the Netherlands,” said Robert Sunshine, MD of the convention. “Pathe has helped set new standards of excellence in exhibition and provides the very best state-of-the art theatres and multiplexes in which to see today’s films. As well, they are innovators and trendsetters in so many other areas of the industry from enhancing the customer experience, to IMAX, and alternative content, so it goes without saying that an honor such as this is one that is richly deserved.”

Pathe is met enige afstand de grootste bioscoopketen van Nederland, die afgelopen maand alweer haar 13e theater opende in Zaandam. Pathe ontvangt jaarlijks ongeveer negen miljoen bezoekers en dat aantal zal de komende jaren nog groeien, mede door de recente overname van de Minerva bioscopen.
