Atlas Entertainment heeft bekend gemaakt dat ze samen met Warner Bros. Pictures een reboot gaan maken van de bekende film Buffy the Vampire Slayer, met o.a. Candy Clark, Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Rutger Haue, Luke Perry, Michele Abrams, Hilary Swank en David Arquette. Warner Bros. verwierf de rechten van de serie bedacht door Fran en Kaz Kuzui.

In 1992 verscheen de originele film Buffy the Vampire Slayer waarop de latere succesvolle tv-serie, dat van 1997 tot 2003 liep, is gebaseerd. Uiteraard werd deze tv-serie de doorbraak van actrice Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Grudge, 2004). De producent Charles Roven (The Dark Knight, 2008) van Atlas zegt: "Whit approached us with an exciting idea about how to update Buffy," said Roven. "There is an active fan base eagerly awaiting this character's return to the big screen. We're thrilled to team up with Doug and Roy on a re-imagining of Buffy and the world she inhabits. Details of the film are being kept under wraps, but I can say while this is not your high school Buffy, she'll be just as witty, tough, and sexy as we all remember her to be."
