Volgens de website Collider zal de 23e James Bond film Carte Blanche gaan heten. Dit baseert de website op het bericht van Blic Online dat de Siberische cellist Jelena Mihailovic gevraagd zou zijn om het klassieke openingsnummer van de James Bond films in een nieuw jasje te steken. Hierover zegt de celliste zelf:

“At one of the many concerts the musician held in France during the Cannes Film Festival, the producers and the director of the next Bond film were in the audience, who were staggered by what they had heard and on the spot offered Jelena a chance to write the opening score for the new James Bond film, entitled Carte Blanche.”

Carte Blanche is ook de titel van het laatste 007 boek, geschreven door Jeffrey Deaver. Via een simpele zoektocht op de titel komt de onderstaande synopsis naar boven. Dit kan volgens Collider ook de synopsis zijn voor de nieuwe Bond film, die op 1 november 2012 in de Nederlandse bioscopen moet verschijnen:

He [Bond] starts his assignment on the outskirts of Novi Sad in Serbia where an Irish sapper-turned-enforcer named Niall Dunne is planning to derail a train carrying three hundred kilograms of methyl isocyanate, dumping it into the Danube. Bond is able to prevent the catastrophe by derailing the train himself at a much safer place along the line. He is unable to detain Dunne, who kills Bond’s Serbian contacts in the course of his escape.

"Carte Blanche" wordt door Sam Mendes geregisseerd en er zijn reeds rollen voor Javier Bardem (Biutiful, 2010), Ralph Fiennes (The Reader, 2008) en Naomi Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean) en uiteraard keren Daniel Craig en Judi Dench terug in hun rollen als James Bond en M. Vandaag werd ook bekend dat er opnames plaatsvinden in India.
