Robin Williams over eventuele 'Mrs. Doubtfire' en 'Good Morning Vietnam' sequels
Ook laat de uit beeld geraakte acteur zijn licht schijnen over het gerucht van een vervolg op 'The Birdcage'
Robin Williams sprak met Moviehole en ging in op de geruchten met betrekking tot eventuele sequels op enkele van zijn films. Het gaat om Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) en The Birdcage (1996).
Wat Mrs. Doubtfire betreft schijnt actrice Bonnie Hunt ooit eens te zijn ingehuurd om een vervolg te gaan schrijven. Dit kwam echter nooit uit de verf.
They could never write it. They kept trying and it doesnt work, because at the end of the first one they revealed who Mrs. Doubtfire is. So it ends up being her for five minutes and then she transitions into some old Russian woman. They so far cant crack it.
Er zijn serieuze plannen geweest voor een Good Morning, Vietnam sequel. Het had niet veel gescheeld of er was een tweede film gekomen
That was actually real. They were trying to write. It was based around the Democratic Convention in Chicago. Part of it worked. Part of it didnt work, because it would be him dealing with the politics of revolt in Chicago at the time. But anyways, they did do [the script] and it didnt all work. It was also a matter of trying to find someone to back it. It was almost there. It was a great idea! Thanks for reminding me! Wow.
In tegenstelling tot de twee andere films lijkt er wel nog hoop te zijn voor The Birdcage 2.
Theyre trying to figure out which [story] to write for that. We will see what happens,
Williams is momenteel in de Nederlandse bioscopen te horen in Happy Feet 2.
