Rob Zombie (House Of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects) heeft een tijdje terug al eens aangegeven dat hij stopt met het maken van griezelfilms. Niet vreemd dus we nu te horen krijgen dat hij zich gaat storten op een heel andere genre: de sportfilm. Zombie gaat het ijshockey gerelateerde Broad Street Bullies schrijven, produceren en regisseren. Het betreft een film over de Philadephia Flyers tijdens hun legendarische seizoen 1974-1975.
Zombie: "Each character involved is more outrageous than the next. The backdrop of the turbulent year of 1974 is perfect for this stranger-than-fiction sports tale." Verder omschrijft hij het project als een kruising tussen Rocky en Boogie Nights, maar dan op het ijs.
