In een vraaggesprek met Playbill Magazine heeft Mel Brooks meegedeeld dat hij werkt aan een opvolger van Spaceballs, de Star Wars parodie uit 1987 die Brooks schreef en regisseerde.

Brooks speelde daarin ook President Skroob/Yogurt, een van de hoofdrollen.
