Rodriguez over Shark Boy & Lava Girl

Rodriguez vertelde er onlangs in Sunday Morning Shoot-Out iets over. De film draait vanaf 28 juli in Nederland.

[eng]"[My kids] can't wait for The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D, which comes out in two months somehow. As soon as I leave here, I gotta go back and finish that sucker," he told the hosts. "I did that the same time as I did Sin City. I like doing two very different projects at the same time, because it's kind of cleaning to take a break from Sin City to go do a little bit of this children's film. You go back to Sin City, and it's like you've been away from it a year, even though it might have been two days. There's so much distance, and I really need that cause I do my own editing. It's great to have two projects going. During the day, we'd be shooting Shark Boy and Lava Girl and at night, it was Sin City on the same stage. The crew were doing both movies, and they loved being that creative and having to invent things."

"My 7-year-old son came up with that movie, and it was a project that I thought was going to be terrific! We were a family going to make a picture for other families. My wife is already producing them, so my boy helped with it. We made a really unique picture, because like Frank was my collaborator on [Sin City], I used my seven year old, who is an amazingly creative little kid. They tell you the truth, too! Their own dreams of empowerment is what you're trying to get to. You're trying to recapture it, and they're already there!"[/eng]
