Vannacht worden in Hollywood voor de89e keer de Oscars uitgereikt. Zoals gebruikelijk zijn een dag van te voren de Razzie Awards bekend gemaakt door de The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation. De grote winnaars zijn Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party en Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Vooral Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party van en met Dinesh D'Souza en Becky Turner moest het flink ontgelden en kreeg vier Razzies voor Slechtste Film, Slechtste Regisseur, Slechtste Acteur en Slechtste Actrice. De documentaire wist in de States ruim $13 miljoen op te halen aan de bioscoopkassa's, maar werd bijzonder zwak ontvangen. Batman v Superman ging er vandoor met Slechtste mannelijke bijrol, Slechtste duo en Slechtste prequel, remake, rip-off of sequel en Slechtste script. Zoolander 2 pakte één prijs: Slechtste vrouwelijke bijrol.
