Regisseur Mike Newell (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) gaat het boek The Terminal Spy van Alan Cowell verfilmen. Het boek draait om de mysterieuze dood van de voormalige KGB-spion Alexander Litvinenko, die in 2006 werd vergiftigd met polonium-210. Vanuit zijn ziekenhuisbed in Londen beschuldigde Litvinenko de toenmalige Russische president Vladimir Poetin ervan het brein te zijn achter het moordcomplot.

Over de exacte titel en de cast van de film is nog niets bekend. Volgens Warner Bros. zou het project "in een gevorderd stadium van ontwikkeling" zijn. Hieronder de officiële synopsis van het boek:
