In een interview met Screen Junkies heeft acteur Dolph Lundgren aangegeven dat hij een rol zal spelen in In the Name of the King 2, de nieuwe film van de beruchte Duitse regisseur Uwe Boll. Lundgren: Ik zal een zwaar toegetakelde oorlogsveteraan spelen die in een soort middeleeuwse machtsstrijd terechtkomt. Het is een rol die ik gewoon wou opnemen. Het is leuk om af en toe mijn acteerwerk wat te oefenen. Zo kan ik mezelf klaarstomen voor Expendables 2.
De eerste In the Name of the King (IMDb 3.8 / RT 5%), met rollen voor o.a. Jason Statham, Ron Perlman, Ray Liotta en Burt Reynolds, was een epische fantasy-film gebaseerd op de videospelfranchise van Dungeon Siege waarin een man ten strijde trekt om zijn gekidnapte vrouw te bevrijden en de dood van zijn zoon te wreken.
"It's like contemporary, right now, big city, and we have Dolph Lundgren basically being a cop... and one night he gets attacked by ninjas in his house and fell with the ninjas into a vortex back in time. And then it turns out it's fifty years after In the Name of the King ended, and [fantasy land] Ehb is destroyed and Jason Statham and everybody who was in the first part got wiped out... And Dolph is the son of Jason Statham, and he was sent into the future and brought up in an orphanage, because the parents felt they would all die. So he is basically the last survivor of the kingdom of Ehb, so he should bring the kingdom back in charge."
