Zaterdag vonden in Californië de opnames voor de uitreikingen van de MTV Movie Awards 2004 plaats. De presentatie van het geheel was in handen van de pas 17-jarige Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday), en muzikale intermezzo's kwamen van onder andere D12 en The Beastie Boys.
