De Engelse schrijver Roald Dahl heeft de filmwereld al behoorlijk wat voer verschaft: The BFG, The Witches, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda en uiteraard Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, dat momenteel opnieuw wordt verfilmd door Tim Burton met in de hoofdrol Johnny Depp.

Daar komt binnenkort een titel bij: regisseur Wes Anderson, verantwoordelijk voor The Royal Tenenbaums en The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, gaat samen met Revolution Studios het boek Fantastic Mr Fox uit 1970 verfilmen als stop-motion animatie. Anderson zal het script schrijven in samenwerking met Noah Baumbach, met wie hij ook werkte aan The Life Aquatic.

In Fantastic Mr Fox hebben drie boeren er genoeg van om hun kippen ongewenst te moeten delen met de lokale vos, waarna ze besluiten de vos en zijn familie volledig uit te roeien.
