Regisseur Ron Howard treft voorbereidingen voor zijn Frost/Nixon, over het interview dat de Britse talkshowpresentator David Frost na het Watergate-schandaal in 1972 had met Richard Nixon, en ook Ryan Murphy, bedenker van de succesvolle tv-serie Nip/Tuck, werkt aan een film over Watergate met als titel Dirty Tricks. Vandaag werd bekend dat Brad Pitt en Sharon Stone zijn toegevoegd aan de cast, die al bestond uit Annette Bening, Gwyneth Paltrow en Meryl Streep.
"It's about the women in Watergate, it's very different that Ron Howard's movie. I love Ron Howard's movie, that was about what a nightmare Nixon was to get the rights for the Frost interview, and the negotiations back and fourth for that. Mine is really much more about one of the first Cassandra's of our century. [It's] really about a woman who said our government is corrupt, and why is no one believing me. Why is no one seeing that this Tricky Dicky Nixon is insane."
