Zoals gebruikelijk, verschenen de eerste reacties langzaam op social media en waar toch ook wel enig sarcasme heerste toen de film werd aangekondigd, hebben trailers en posters inmiddels mensen overtuigd.
Vanaf 1 augustus in de bioscoop
Die eerste reacties doen daar nog een schepje bovenop. Hoofdrolspeler Liam Neeson wordt geprezen als opvolger van Leslie Nielsen, evenals zijn chemie met de verrassend komische Pamela Anderson. Verder is het geheel heerlijk stom, dwaas, constant hilarisch, de ene na de andere grap wordt op je afgevuurd en de sfeer is prachtig in de originele geest.
Net als zijn voorgangers maakt ook The Naked Gun duidelijk goed gebruik van zijn vlotte speelduur, met slechts 85 minuten. Perfect dus voor een comedy, want hoe vaak zien we het genre stoppen wanneer dat nodig is?

I bow to no man in my adoration of the original NAKED GUN, so I'm glad to report that the new one is fantastic. If there was any justice in the world, Liam Neeson would get an Oscar. Smart and hilarious from beginning to end.
