Fast & Furious 5 moet nog steeds in de bioscopen verschijnen maar dat weerhoudt de makers er niet van om alvast de eerste voorbereidingen te treffen voor het onvermijdelijke zesde deel. Chris Morgan, de scenarist van de laatste drie delen van de pijlsnelle actiereeks, heeft bij Universal getekend wat tot gevolg heeft dat hij nog minstens 2 jaar lang voor de studio zal gaan pennen.
Zijn volgende project wordt dus Fast and Furious 6. Verder gaat het gerucht dat Morgan zal gaan werken aan een Terminator film met zijn Fast and Furious regisseur Justin Lin. Ook Bakugan en Gears of War zijn projecten waarmee hij in verband wordt gebracht.
The Hollywood Reporter sprak met Morgan. Hij zei het volgende:
I dont want to be the guy who gets a vanity production deal and does nothing. I want to be the guy who goes out there and busts my ass and fixes broken stories and finds material to bring back quite frankly, as a reward to the studio that has worked with me for so long. We have a very effective partnership, and we want to get some big movies off the ground.

I grew up on Raiders, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard. Those are in my wheel house. Those are the movies I want to find, I want to help make. Theyre genre movies but heroic ones, ones that have a hyper-real sense to them. Summer movies.
