De mensen achter Man of Steel, waaronder producent Christopher Nolan en regisseur Zack Snyder doen al sinds het begin van de productie hun uiterste best om zo weinig mogelijk over de film naar buiten te brengen. Zelfs na het zien van de teaser en de trailer weten we eigenlijk nog heel weinig.

Russell Crowe speelt Jor-El, de vader van Superman (Henry Cavill). De acteur ging tegenover Reelz in op de film. Hoewel hij zijn woorden voorzichtig uitkiest, geeft hij wel enkele interessante aanwijzingen. Hij zei het volgende:

Man of Steel is a massive undertaking. It takes you on the ground to Krypton, it takes you to a planet where the sun is four times larger than ours and you get to experience that stuff and if you’ve seen the trailers you realize that this Superman is not just floating through the air held up by a wire, this Superman is super sonic.

Crowe gaat ook in op de plaats die Superman inneemt in het heden.

It’s very complicated, it’s really complex. I don’t think anybody has really tried to get into the psychology of what it must be like to be Superman and what people would really respond like in a modern society if somebody like that just popped up.

Man of Steel, met een cast die verder bestaat uit Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon en Antje Traue, komt in Nederland uit op 20 juni 2013.
