Er gingen al geruchten sinds zijn optreden in Fast Five (2011) goed werd ontvangen, maar nu lijkt Universal Pictures dan ook echt bereid te zijn een film te maken rond Dwayne Johnson;s personage Agent Luke Hobbs. In een nieuw interview met Empre geeft Johnson aan dat de film misschien zelfs al verschijnt voor Fast & Furious 7.

Aldus Johnson:

“[It could arrive] possibly after this one or after the next one, possibly, I’m not quite too sure. I know that’s the goal and we continue to build that character and have him take shape. But yes, I can’t wait.”

Eerst is het natuurlijk tijd voor Fast & Furious 6. In het alweer zesde deel uit de serie actiefilms spelen Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Ludacris, Luke Evans en Gina Carano. Justin Lin regisseert wederom. Fast & Furious 6 draait vanaf 23 mei in de Nederlandse bioscopen.
