Matt Damon gaat hoogstwaarschijnlijk George Clooney vergezellen in de film Syriana, gebaseerd op het boek See No Evil: The True Story of a Ground Soldier in the CIA's War on Terrorism over het leven van de ex-spion Bob Baer. Clooney zal de rol van Baer op zich nemen, voor Damon ligt de rol van een oliehandelaar te wachten.

Oscar-winnaar Stephen Gaghan, die eerder werkte aan Rules of Engagement, Traffic en The Alamo zal het script schrijven.
