De Amerikaanse acteur Chadwick Boseman overleed afgelopen vrijdag op 43-jarige leeftijd aan de gevolgen van darmkanker. Al vier jaar was het voor hem een strijd tegen de ziekte. Zijn overlijden komt hard aan in Hollywood, ook bij zijn collega's waarmee hij jaren samenwerkte aan het Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios reageerde als volgt: "Ons hart is gebroken en onze gedachten zijn bij de familie van Chadwick Boseman. Jouw nalatenschap zal voor altijd voortleven. Rust in vrede."

Today is beyond devastating to comprehend. Just shock and pain...I was in awe of Chadwick, as an actor, in his commitment to the work and as a human. I looked up to him. I've had a hard time wrapping my head around this since last night. Not only that Chadwick died from colon cancer, but that he had it the entire time I knew him, and did all the amazing work he did and lived the life he did during that time. I didn't know him well but he was always a good guy to me. I pray that his family find peace in their time of grief. And I've been looking over Chadwick's Twitter feed this morning learning about the charities and causes he cared about, even in the late stages of cancer, so that I can help forward those causes. Love to you all. ❤️
