20th Century Fox heeft bevestigd dat James McAvoy de hoofdrol zal spelen in X-Men prequel, X-Men: First Class. McAvoy zal in de door Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) geregisseerde film een jonge Charles Xavier vertolken, die in de eerste drie films nog werd gespeeld door Patrick Stewart.
De synopsis van de nieuwe X-Men film:
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magnetos Brotherhood and Professor Xs X-Men.Wie de jonge Erik Lensherr zal spelen, is nog niet bekend. De film gaat deze zomer in productie en moet op 3 juni volgend jaar al in de Verenigde Staten in premiere gaan.
