"We were utterly impressed by a film that intricately brings together one of the most widespread forms of domination in our world today with a very personal story. Our winner is a multi-layered film that deftly portrays a critical understanding of the intricate traumas of colonial history, as well as what is one of this century's most aggressive forms of transgression into healthy human life. It is also a story of sensuality, desire and personal power. We were delighted to remember that a strong woman determined to remain in her true existence, and unrelenting in her natural claim for personal well-being signals to a life force that can move mountains. In this film, we were deeply inspired by the modest and elegant cinematography, and the fresh narrative that takes its time in its own spacious landscape yet intelligently bounds the viewer to its dynamic storyline."
The Salesman verschijnt 8 december in de Nederlandse bios.
