Vorige maand vernamen we het heugelijke nieuws dat Quentin Tarantino bijna klaar was met het script voor een nieuwe film. Ook hoorden we dat de film de stijl van een spaghetti western zal gaan krijgen. Tot slot werd Christoph Waltz, die een Oscar binnenhaalde voor zijn rol in Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, ook nog eens in verband gebracht met de nieuwe film.

Tijdens de promotie van haar nieuwe film Ceremony sprak Tarantino's gebruikelijke muse Uma Thurman heel kort over het nieuwe script. Tegenover Hollywood Outbreak ging ze eerst in op de vraag hoe het gesteld is met Kill Bill 3.

"I think Kill Bill lives down the road,”

De reden hiervoor is dat Tarantino momenteel druk bezig is met andere scenario's. Eén daarvan lijkt gereed te zijn voor een nieuwe film.

I think he has a script ready to start of a new film, a ‘Southern.’ I think it’s really exciting. It’s another new story and a fresh piece of material that he is channeling at the moment.

Een paar jaar geleden zei Tarantino het volgende:

I want to explore something that really hasn’t been done. I want to do movies that deal with America’s horrible past with slavery and stuff but do them like spaghetti westerns, not like big issue movies. I want to do them like they’re genre films, but they deal with everything that America has never dealt with because it’s ashamed of it, and other countries don’t really deal with because they don’t feel they have the right to.
