Iron Sky is een film die een alternatief verhaal vertelt van onze wereldgeschiedenis. In de film zijn de nazis in 1945 namelijk naar de maan gegaan en in 2018 keren ze terug naar de aarde. Dat is de basis van het project, dat op zn minst bijzonder te noemen valt. Het is namelijk een project dat zoveel mogelijk gebruik maakt van het internet en gesponsord wordt door het publiek.
Met een budget van 6,5 miljoen euro (er is al 5,6 miljoen verzameld) moet de sciencefiction comedy een wereldwijde release in 2011 krijgen. De cast bestaat onder andere uit Julia Dietze, Gëtz Otto, Tilo Prückner en Udo Kier.
Iron Sky is a scifi movie that takes place in the year 2018, when the Nazis, who fled the Earth to the dark side of the Moon in 1945, return to claim the Earth. The film is a Finnish-German co-production, filmed mainly in English, with a budget of 6.5 million euros. Its directed by Timo Vuorensola and produced by Tero Kaukomaa (Blind Spot Pictures), Samuli Torssonen (Energia Productions) and Oliver Damian (27 Films Production), with a screenplay is written by the acclaimed sci-fi writer Johanna Sinisalo (Nebula Award nominee 2009, Finlandia 2000) and Michael Kalesniko (Private Parts). The cast includes Julia Dietze (1½ Ritter), Götz Otto (Schindlers List, The Downfall), Tilo Prückner (The Neverending Story, Die Fälscher) and Udo Kier (Dogville, Dancer in the Dark).

We shot this footage mainly to make sure our workflow works as planned The visual look and feel is one of the biggest challenges we need to overcome. Shooting this footage - which we will also use in the final film when it comes out - provided us with enough material to test out several options and pin down one. Im hoping to find a visual combination thats unique: something that looks a bit like a comic book and a bit like concept art, but with a definite photorealistic atmosphere.
