Vandaag zijn de nominaties voor de 75e Golden Globe Awards bekendgemaakt. Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water wist de meeste nominaties binnen te slepen; maar liefst zeven. Steven Spielbergs The Post en Martin McDonaghs Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri moesten het doen met ieder zes nominaties.

Samen met Christopher Nolans Dunkirk wisten bovengenoemde drie films nominaties te noteren in de belangrijke categorieën, Beste Film (drama) en Beste Regisseur. De vijfde genomineerde Beste Film (drama) is Call Me By Your Name en de andere regisseur is Ridley Scott, voor All The Money in the World.

Opvallend is de nominatie voor Christopher Plummer voor zijn bijrol in All The Money In The World. Een paar weken geleden kreeg hij de rol nadat Kevin Spacey uit de film werd geknipt.

Op 7 januari worden de Globes uitgereikt in het Beverly Hilton Hotel met Seth Meyers als gastheer.
