Netflix is de grote winnaar bij de bekendmaking van de nominaties voor de Critics' Choice Awards 2021. De streamingdienst breekt een record met vier nominaties in de categorie 'Beste Film'.

Het gaat om Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom en David Fincher's Mank. Die laatstgenoemde is ook direct de meest genomineerde film met 12 nominaties.

De grootste verrassing is de internationale release Minari, die 10 nominaties heeft binnengeharkt, onder meer voor 'Beste Regisseur' en 'Beste acteur in een hoofdrol'.
