Marvel’s superheldenfilms doen het goed in de bioscopen, en daarom kunnen we de komende tijd nog veel meer nieuwe films verwachten. Zo moeten Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger en The Avengers nog in de bioscopen draaien. Daarnaast was eerder ook bevestigd dat Iron Man 3 uit zou komen. Nu blijkt dat ook Thor en Captain America een vervolg zullen krijgen. Dit bleek tijdens een interview met Marvel Studios Directeur Kevin Feige.

"Thor will go off into a new adventure," aldus Feige, "and Captain America will continue to explore the modern world in another film of his own. We hope that holds true for the characters appearing in that film — Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the spy organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. — all of whom are more than worthy and capable of carrying their own films. And, we've got a lot of other characters we're prepping and getting ready for film debuts: the world of martial arts, these great cosmic space fantasies, Dr. Strange, and the magic side of the Marvel Universe. There are many, many stories to be mined."

We hoorden al eerder over films als Doctor Strange, Black Widow en S.H.I.E.L.D., maar een Hawkeye productie is nieuw, net als het feit dat Captain America 2 zich in het heden zal afspelen. Vanaf 27 april kunnen we Thor in de bioscopen bekijken en enkele maanden later, vanaf 21 juli, draait Captain America in de bioscopen.
