Na het succes van The Princess and the Frog vragen we ons natuurlijk af welke film regisseursduo Ron Clements en John Musker ons als volgende gaat brengen. Volgens Progress City heeft het duo een nieuw project gevonden, en dat is een geanimeerde versie van een van Terry Pratchett's boeken te maken.
Pratchett heeft ondertussen al zo'n achtendertig Discworld boeken geschreven, dus het duo heeft genoeg keus, en volgens Latino Review hebben ze die keus al gemaakt. Het zou het vierde boek uit de serie moete worden: getiteld Mort. De officiële synopsis van het boek gaat als volgt. In this Discworld installment, Death comes to Mort with an offer he can't refuse -- especially since being, well, dead isn't compulsory.As Death's apprentice, he'll have free board and lodging, use of the company horse, and he won't need time off for family funerals. The position is everything Mort thought he'd ever wanted, until he discovers that this perfect job can be a killer on his love life.
Yes, kinda. I will say that the film does take place in the Discworld series which is where the Mort book (fourth in the line of books, btw) takes place, but remember that this is an adaptation that won't necessarily be literal (no film adaptation really is). I got confirmation from the Bothans of this. The hero of the book shows that this is an entirely different kind of story than Walt Disney Animation Studio has told before, but it does have a princess in it. Remember that this is early in the process and things can change. It's at least three years before it will come out and the animation process is a long, bumpy and slow road. This project as well as "Reboot Ralph" and another to be announced "untitled project" give you a sense as to how the course will change in the Mouse's animation direction after that one year break.
