Het einde van het jaar is daar en via de populaire website IMDb kunnen we opmaken welke film het publiek de beste titel vond van 2014. Onderstaande lijst houdt zich aan een twee regels: 1. het zijn Engelstalige films en 2. de films hebben tot op heden minimaal vijfduizend stemmen ontvangen.

Rekeninghoudend met bovenstaande regels blijkt dat de nummer één film van het jaar - volgens de stemmende IMDb-bezoekers - Christopher Nolans Interstellar is. Het sci-fi drama verzamelde maar liefst 351 duizend stemmen en staat op dit moment op een 8,9. Dit is goed voor #15 in de IMDb Top 250.

De Top 3 is compleet met Alejandro González Iñárritu's Birdman (8,7) en Damien Chazelle's Whiplash (8,7). Beide films staan nog niet in de IMDb Top 250, aangezien ze nog geen 25.000 stemmen hebben ontvangen.

Films die dit jaar wel in de IMDb Top 250 zijn beland zijn Boyhood (#85), Gone Girl (#93), Guardians of the Galaxy (#140), The Grand Budapest Hotel (#181) en X-Men: Days of Future Past (#191).
