Ben Stiller liet tegenover MTV een aantal zaken los over de film die hij momenteel regisseert: de komedie Tropic Thunder. "It’s about a bunch of movies stars, and a rapper/actor, who get cast in this Vietnam War movie and get sent over to Vietnam to make this film. The movie is going over budget and the director is freaking out because they’re not getting the reality that they need. So he takes them off into the jungle, and the actors get stuck out in the jungle for real."


De cast van Tropic Thunder bestaat, naast Stiller, uit onder andere Nick Nolte, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Steve Coogan, Jay Baruchel en Justin Theroux (die het script ook schreef). De film wordt in augustus 2008 verwacht.
