The Walt Disney Studios heeft bekend gemaakt dat Toy Story 3 dit weekend de grens van $1 miljard aan wereldwijde Box Office opbrengst gaat passeren. De laatste animatiefilm van Pixar voegt zich bij zes andere films die al eerder deze grens passeerden.

1. Avatar (2009) - $2.740,4 miljoen
2. Titanic (1997) - $1.843,2 miljoen
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) - $1.119,1 miljoen
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) - $1.066,2 miljoen
5. Alice in Wonderland (2010) - $1.024,3 miljoen
6. The Dark Knight (2009) - $1.001,9 miljoen

De opbrengst van de derde Toy Story zorgt ervoor dat het ook de succesvolste animatiefilm is aller tijden (inflatie niet meegerekend). Tot voor kort droeg Dreamworks Shrek 2 deze titel. Tevens voegt Pixars succesfilm zich bij twee andere Disney films, Alice in Wonderland (ook uit 2010!) en het tweede deel van Pirates of the Caribbean (2006).
